“Injustice anywhere
IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.”
~ Martin Luther King Jr.
The world witnessed the tragic murder of Neda, a music student, and hundreds of other patriotic Iranians on the streets of Tehran during the regime’s repression of peaceful protests of the June 2009 fraudulent presidential elections. In early December, massive Iranian security and paramilitary forces tear-gassed, beat, and arrested thousands of students on university campuses across Iran. Women activists in Iran have been increasingly targeted for arrest, detention, rape in prison, torture, and execution by the tyrannic clerical regime.
June 12, 2010 (22 Khordad), marks the anniversary of last year’s uprising of the people of Iran against Ahmadinejad’s fraudulent presidential election & against the continued brutalities of the despotic and tyrannical clerical regime in Iran. To uphold their continued resistance against such brutal clerical regime in Iran, the nation of Iran is determined to pour onto the streets of Iran once again on June 12, 2010, commemorating their last year’s uprising & their continued struggle to reclaim their rights for freedom & democracy in Iran.
In harmony with & in support of our people in Iran on this day, Iranian American residents of Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC who believe in the separation of religions from their ruling government, & the ones who wish for the establishment of a Secular Democracy in Iran, have planned a protest/rally on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 11:00 AM, in front of Iran Interests Section (Daftar) at Wisconsin Ave with a follow-on March towards the White House & ending the rally at the Lafayette Park (in front of the White House) of Washington, D.C.
THE PEOPLE OF IRAN NEED YOUR SUPPORT! PLEASE JOIN THIS RALLY TO STAND WITH IRAN’S NATION, ESPECIALLY WITH ITS STUDENTS & WOMEN, WHO CONTINUE TO FIGHT HARD FOR FREEDOM & DEMOCRACY IN IRAN.
